DR MITHUN KN is a devoted Pediatric Surgeon taking care of children from new born babies till their adolescence and beyond. He did his MBBS from esteemed Kasturba Medical college,Mangalore from Manipal University. During his MBBS days,in one of Pediatric clinical postings he saw the adversity of surgical babies and their parents and there he pledged to become a Pediatric Surgeon.
He did his 6 years of surgical training entirely in Pediatric Surgery from the illustrious institute -Mazumdar Shah Medical and research centre- Narayana Hrudayalaya ,Bangalore. The treatment protocols were akin to European and American standards. During his residency, he has had exposure of more than 70 pediatric liver transplants and more than 300 kidney transplants. Later on, he has worked in prestigious BJ Wadia children s hospital in Mumbai, one of the busiest hospitals with humongous case load in Pediatric Surgery .
In view of his special interest in Urology, he has done fellowship in Pediatric Urology from Bangalore Medical college and Research institute (tertiary care and referral centre for entire state of Karnataka) .
His aim is to make create awareness of Pediatric Surgery awareness to caregivers and give a standard care to all children. Also his organization IAPS(Indian Academy of Pediatric Surgeons) in collaboration with Star health insurance have a made a breakthough in providing insurance to babies with congenital anomalies which is significant step in reducing the cost burden on young families .
