He can offer cutting edge techniques in nerve sparing robotic prostate surgery, and surgery in locally advanced aggressive prostate cancer. ??In kidney cancer, Dr. Mukesh Ahir prefers employing keyhole surgery for the majority of patients. In particular he is a strong proponent of laparoscopic or Robotic Partial Nephrectomy. This is where only the cancerous lump is removed - not the entire kidney, and all performed through small incisions. The benefits of keyhole surgery include faster recovery, reduced hospital stay, lower incidence of wound infection, less risk of transfusion, quicker return to work.??Finally his expertise also lies in the management of kidney stones.
